📢Counter action at Jordan Peterson lecture📢
❗This weekend ultraconservative psychologist and selfhelp guru Jordan Peterson will speak at the RAI. We think it's awful that a promoter of queerphobia, misogyny, racism, discrimination and fascist reasoning is given a stage in our city and therefore we are organising a counter-action on Saturday 24 September at 19.00 at the RAI.
🖕Peterson is among other things anti-abortion and same-sex marriage, vocally against recognizing the existence of trans-people and a climate-skeptic.
🦞Peterson believes in natural hierarchy based on 'competence' with high IQ people at the top and people of low IQ at the bottom. According to Peterson, we can't do anything about this but all those 'stupid' people are a big problem for society. They cannot support themselves and cost a lot of money “so the question is; what do you do with them?” He rarely gives explicit answers to his own questions but his disguised fascist reasoning always leads to appalling conclusions.
🤬Peterson owes his fame in far-right circles to the outcry he sparked in Canada against an amendment to a law that legally protects trans people from discrimination and exclusion. In his own words he lost his position at university as a result and became a 'self-help guru'.
🐏Anyone who wants to hear is bombarded with twisted scientific data through his books and YouTube rants with which he legitimises his ultraconservative points. He is very good at this and a fascist wolf in sheep's clothing. Popular among conservative youth Peterson acts as a radicalizing gateway for the far right.
🔥We don't want pseudoscientific nonsense, queer hatred, racism, lies about the climate crisis and downright Nazi rhetoric get a stage in our city! Join us at the RAI on Saturday September 24 7pm. Bring pots, pans, neighbours and friends. Together we'lll make it loud and clear that JORDAN PETERSON is NOT WELCOME in Amsterdam! We’ll bring flyers to make clear to the visitors of the RAI where they are actually going and inform passersby about what's going on inside.
