This past year has been deadly. We continue to witness escalating imperialist violence and state fascism - the ongoing genocide in Palestine and the expansion of Zionist war into Lebanon; Saudi, the US and the UK continued to bomb Yemen; war and genocide in Sudan in Congo; airstrikes used to suppress indigenous communities in the Philippines by the fascist president Marcos; the Russia Ukraine war persists after two years with NATO using this to push expansion of militarism in Europe.

The number of displaced people globally has once again reached a record high, at 120 million so far in 2024. While migrants flee to find safety, countries they flee to continue to militarize their borders.

War is rife but resistance is thriving. Every corner of the earth has been mobilized around Palestine, many movements brought together and unified in common struggle against Zionism, imperialism and fascism. With that has come a stark increase in repression of our movements. Palestinians, international activists, migrants and Muslim communities, and anyone who our governments deem to threaten their status quo is under the threat of heavy surveillance and attack on their civil rights.

The wars around the world, the militarization of our borders and societies and the repression of our movements rely upon the apparatus of the arms industry - to develop more deadly weapons and more sophisticated surveillance. The N EDS 2024 arms fair is pushing a message of engaging civil society and the responsibility of the so-called “defence”.

We have been through decades of austerity, as money for social services (housing, health care, education) continues to be diverted to military spending the government now want to rope citizens into their war agenda.

We reject that completely, we refuse to be complicit in the crimes, and we stand together for justice and liberation, for a world free from state terror and for freedom of movement and equality for all.

Come out on November 21st and join us in protest of this arms fair, mobilise your community, your neighbors and friends, your fellow students or workers, your collectives, we resist one!

Opening the government society new contracts, they are signing the debts of the lives of countless people. We say no and not with our tax money! We cannot and will not be silent when the world is suffering for the sake of maintaining imperialist power and profit!

We refuse to be silent! War profiteers not welcome here! From Palestine to the Philippines destroy the imperialist war machine!
